‘Come on writers!’ fume Emmerdale viewers as they call out glaring Will and Rose blunder
EMMERDALE viewers were left annoyed with the show’s writers after they noticed an obvious blunder when Rose’s identity was revealed.
Fans had been curious about the identity of the mystery woman ever since she ended up in hospital on the ITV soap.

They finally discovered who she was when Will Taylor got a phone call from medical staff letting him know that he was being summoned into the ward as her next of kin.
The man was left furious as he rushed in to discover his ex-wife Rose, who walked out on him and daughter Dawn years ago.
Rose protested she had no idea that his details were still on her medical files.
Will then insisted that the hospital staff delete his information so he would not be contacted if Rose had an emergency again.

But viewers thought the whole scenario was ridiculous, pointing out that there is no way his phone number would stay the same for over 20 years.
At the time when Rose put him down as next of kin mobile phones were rare, and it would be unusual for him to live in the same house the entire time she was away.
On top of that he was jailed for being a drug dealer when Dawn was a baby.
Prisoners are not allowed mobile phones, so the likelihood that he would have the same number when he got out is very low.

Fans took to social media to speculate about the situation.
“So after years of not seeing Rose, she had Will’s current phone number to put as next of kin!” one fan exclaimed incredulously.

Another slammed the soap writers, adding: “New storyline with Will and his ex of over 20 odd yrs ago, he’s still down as next of kin so hospital phoned him. How would they have his number from then and it would of been a landline not a mobile. Come on Emmerdale writers get it right.”
A third queried: “So, Will was noted as Rose’s next of kin years ago…probably before there were mobile phones yet the hospital had his mobile number….?”
Meanwhile others are worried that Rose’s reappearance means an upcoming storyline where Will has an affair with her behind Kim Tate’s back.
Others think they are still legally married, which could cause problems for his current wife.
