Novak Djokovic withdraws from Mutua Madrid Open 2024

Breaking news at the Muta Madrid Open. The World no.1 Novak Djokovic has decided to withdraw from the Madrid masters. As one of the most awaited clay court Masters after Monte Carlo, all the top players are expected to play here. However, according to the latest sources, it seems like Djokovic won’t be participating in Madrid. 

2024 has been rather disappointing for the Serbian, who has faced a lot of setbacks thus far. What started as a semi-final loss at the Australian Open carried forward to Indian Wells as well. It had been more than 3 months and Djokovic remained titleless. 

The World No.1 hoped for some change of fortunes at the Monte Carlo Masters after some early practice on the clay. However, he could not put up his best show and lost to Casper Ruud in the semi-finals. It seems like there will be another delayed break from the Serbian, who has pulled out from Madrid. 

No reason has been announced yet, but as of now, the World No.1 won’t be participating in the Masters 1000. With the French Open only a month away, this break puts a lot of questions on the form of Djokovic, and his future for the year.

World No.1 Novak Djokovic is having a year to forget. With not many great performances to his name, the 36-year-old is struggling with his tennis and fitness. The tennis critics have reviewed the Serbian hard, as they see a drop in the fitness of the Serbian. 

However, the latest sources reveal that Djokovic has withdrawn from the upcoming Mutua Madrid Open, where he was supposed to star alongside Rafael Nadal. Nonetheless, the fans may witness the same clash at the French Open. Even former tennis pro-Andy Roddick believes that the draw might place Djokovic up against Nadal in the first few rounds. 

“Also, something that’s not talked about enough right now, he goes in unseeded… we could potentially have a Rafa-Novak first round,” said Andy Roddick on his podcast.

The Roland Garros scheduled exactly a month later, both Nadal and Djokovic headline as the fans gear up for the last French Open for the Spaniard. Moreover, this also leaves Djokovic only a month to get his head back into the game. His last performance in Monaco saw a lot of unforced errors, which is a huge reason for his loss. 

Fans, although are hopeful about the return of the Serbian, as they hope that he gets back to form at the French Open and wins a maiden title for the year. An uphill battle for Djokovic, who has all eyes on him after a bad start to the year.
