Paul Rudd jokes about his eternal youth, uses some seriously lit lingo but also implores millennials to wear masks because of COVID-19 in a new viral PSA video.
“Yo, what up, dogs. Paul Rudd here, actor and certified young person,” the seemingly ageless “Ant-Man” star begins in a video posted on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and YouTube channel’s First We Feast‘s social media feeds Monday that’s “brought to you by the State of New York” and bears the state seal.
Calling Cuomo his “homie,” Rudd, 51 – wearing a hoodie, New York hat and headphones and carrying a skateboard – talks about how the governor was “just going off about how us millennials need to wear masks because, get this, apparently a lot of COVID is transmitted by us millennials.
“So Cuomes asks me, he’s like, ‘Paul, you’ve got to help. What are you, like, 26?’ And I didn’t correct him. So, fam, let’s real-talk. Masks, they’re totally beast. So slide that into your DMs and Twitch it.”
The video features a reference to a meme-worthy appearance Rudd made on the “Hot Ones” web series – host Sean Evans makes an appearance as he and Rudd eat hot wings with their masks on – and Rudd explains how “masks protect you and your dank squad” until his more adult side comes out.
“Just wear a mask. I shouldn’t have to make it fun!” Rudd exclaims. “It’s science! UGH!”
