BORIS Johnson has ‘squeezed the brake pedal’ on the easing of lockdown to keep coronavirus under control.
In a press conferences today, high risk settings due to open on August 1 will now be postponed for at least a fortnight.
Casinos, bowling alleys and skating rinks will remain closed. Wedding receptions of up to 30 guests are also not permitted but ceremonies may still go ahead.
Meanwhile, Leicester’s local lockdown was last night partially lifted with pubs, restaurants and hairdressers to reopen on Monday whilst parts of northern England including Greater Manchester entered a local lockdown today.
The UK death toll stands at 46,084.
