JD Vance Just Auditioned As A Fox News Host — And It’s Totally ‘Cringeworthy’
Vice President JD Vance seemingly auditioned to be a Fox News host on Tuesday, spending a full TV hour with the panelists at “The Five” where he introduced a segment and ate a slice of cake with them to wrap up the program.
Toward the end of the Fox News show, Vance teed up a discussion on “cringeworthy” dad jokes, citing a recent story in The Washington Post about science suggesting that the corny humor “may help strengthen the bonds between fathers and children.”
“My favorite dad joke is actually one my son told to me — I want to know what yours are — but, what do you call a fly with no wings?” the vice president began.
“A walk.”
Fox News’ Jesse Watters responded with a slight laugh, “OK, very good. That’s terrible!”
Vance pointed across the table and chuckled over Greg Gutfeld’s reaction.
“All dad jokes must be terrible,” he declared.

Minutes later, Watters presented Vance and the rest of the panel with plates of “pickle cake,” a treat with “dozens of layers of creamy green frosting complete with tiny chunks of pickle.”
“I was going to do fudge because it’s National Fudge Day, for the VP, but I thought it’d be too gay, so I did pickle cake instead,” remarked Watters, a host who has repeatedlyconcerned himself with appearing manly, before Vance dug into the slice in front of him.

The bizarre audition led critics on X such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who’s seen as a likely 2028 Democratic presidential contender, to speculate that Vance would be in the market for a job after the 2028 election since “he won’t be president” the following year.
Others like Mike Nellis, a senior adviser to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign, asked why Vance was co-hosting the show in the first place.
“Shouldn’t he have more important things to do!?” he wrote in a post.

He really needs to sell this book, huh? Did Trump not let him on all the passive income he could be getting from any number of grifts? https://t.co/9Lx3McexME

Those scientists must be furious, they JUST finished that research study but JD Vance debunked the entire findings on health benefits and joy before he finished his first sentence.
