Social Media reacts from Texas A&M's 8-7 loss to Oklahoma
Texas A&M baseball opened Southeastern Conference play with a heartbreaking 8-7 loss to Oklahoma, after giving up a three-run lead in the bottom of the sixth at Kimrey Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
While the Aggies failed to hang on for the win over the Sooners in the series opener, shortstop Chris Hacopian and designated hitter Wesley Jordan’s returns to the lineup were a major positive takeaway. Hacopian opened the game with an RBI single, while Jordan notched a two-RBI single in the fifth that gave the Aggies a 7-4 lead.

Texas A&M’s struggles on the mound kept Oklahoma in the contest, as the Aggie bullpen gave up 13 hits and four walks. Right-hander Josh Stewart left the game early after suffering an injury on the mound, which is another detrimental loss to the Aggies’ pitching rotation.
Entering a do-or-die Game 2 against the Sooners, Michael Earley’s club must find ways to get more consistent and longer outings from the starters on the bump. With Oklahoma one game away from sending Texas A&M back to Bryan-College Station with a series loss, the Maroon and White will look to tie things up on Saturday evening.
The result marks Texas A&M’s second loss of the season, as they look to bounce back tomorrow. Right-hander Weston Moss is slated to get the start for the Aggies in the second contest of the SEC opener, while LJ Mercurius is projected to open things on the bump for the Sooners.
