Shocking: Benjamin Sesko left out of BBC Team of the Week; Bruno Fernandes, the only Man Utd player
In his latest Premier League Team of the Week selection for BBC Sport, Troy Deeney overlooked Benjamin Sesko despite the forward’s strong performance, choosing to highlight Bruno Fernandes instead.
Sesko played a key role in Manchester United’s 2-1 comeback win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford last Sunday afternoon.

The 22-year-old Slovenian was making his first start under interim boss Michael Carrick and didn’t take long to make a strong impression, opening the scoring for United.
Bruno Fernandes delivered an excellent cross from the right, and Sesko beat Jaydee Canvot, who struggled to contain him throughout the match.
The Slovenian connected well with Fernandes’ delivery, heading home powerfully past Dean Henderson into the corner of the net.

The Portugal international kept his composure to send Dean Henderson the wrong way, before later setting up the winner with a cross that capped off an all-round impressive display.
Despite Sesko’s goal and overall performance, Deeney chose to focus on Fernandes, highlighting his influence and leadership in his regular column for BBC Sport.
Deeney wrote: “Bruno, Bruno, Bruno. Every season, people write off his importance to Manchester United”.
“Year after year, he reminds you why he’s the captain and leader of the team. It was a wonder ball in for the winner and his penalty was as calm as ever.”

Speaking to Manchester United’s official website after the game, Carrick said:
“Absolutely delighted for Ben. It’s certainly not been a headache; it’s not been a big drama. He’s had a huge impact and he’s making big improvements.
“A little bit is getting used to what it is like to be here and the feelings and what it means to play. Things that we can take for granted at times”.
“He’s desperate to do well, he works so hard, he’s an absolute pleasure to work with. Today, he started and it was an absolutely fantastic goal; he’s bringing an awful lot.”
The 22-year-old played 75 minutes before being replaced by Amad Diallo in front of a sold-out crowd at Old Trafford.
