Alabama women's basketball drops in latest AP Poll following losses

An updated AP Poll for Week 17 of the women’s college basketball season has officially been released.

Alabama has dropped out of the Top 25 entirely following back to back losses against Vanderbilt and Texas. The Tide have struggled immensely against some of the top teams in both the SEC and the country this season, as Alabama now finds themselves unranked for the first time since Week 9 of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Tide were credited with 29 total votes, despite being unranked this week, as Alabama will officially end the regular season sitting just outside of the top 25 teams in the nation.

Alabama recorded a 21-9 overall record this season, while holding a 7-9 mark in SEC play. The Tide’s success stemmed from a multitude of talented seniors in Jessica Timmons and Ta’Mia Scott, as the duo will more than likely continue to thrive during the opening round of the SEC Tournament against Missouri.

Alabama will look to open the SEC Tournament this week with a win against the Tigers, as the Tide will look to secure a rematch with Tennessee, should they defeat Missouri.
