This is our Announcement article for the game that we are developing as our final project in our Videogame Degree.
We are a team of 4 portuguese students, currently working on our game – Twilight Tempo.
Twilight Tempo is a 3rd person action game that follows the story of Annika – a girl that was disfigured and left to die in a magical forest by an evil jealous queen.
After being saved by the magical forest, Annika gains magical abilities related to three different attunements: Music, Dancing and Light.
She must now go on a journey to recover her missing parts and take revenge on the Queen.
In terms of gameplay, we were highly inspired by Kingdom Hears: Birth By Sleep.

You have multiple skills, each with one of the three attunements. You can cycle through the skills to use them in battle.
As you hit enemies with basic attacks and skills, your finisher gauge will fill. When it’s full, you can activate a powerfull finisher that will vary depending on which attunement you used the most to fill the gauge.
For our vertical slice, you must travel through the forest, defeating enemies and solving spacial puzzles to reach a castle where you will face the first boss enemy.
As for the art style, the biggest inspiration is Lost In Random.

For the art direction, we want to replicate the look of painted clay sculptures and convey that sense of delicacy and magic seen in fairy tale illustrations. We’ll also use a color palette that’s mostly muted but with some pops of color for contrast.
That’s it for now!
Thank you for reading and stay tuned to our weekly posts about our game!
