Minnesota Vikings named best fit for Super Bowl LB in NFL free agency
The Minnesota Vikings’ defense is the lifeblood of their team. While the offense struggled mightily in 2025, the defense toughed up and found another motor and became the reason they ended the season 9-8 instead of securing a top-five pick like they would have been otherwise.
With the return of Brian Flores on a new contract, the defense has its leader in place. However, giving him the proper depth to continue to make a difference is key this offseason. One sneaky need for the team is a linebacker, as both Ivan Pace Jr. and Eric Wilson will be hitting the market. To help cover those needs, ESPN’s Matt Bowen suggests the team be a fit for a Super Bowl-winning linebacker, Nakobe Dean.

The Eagles linebacker is a unique blend of speed and power with pass-rushing chops to back up his good instincts for the run game. Bowen writes, “The Vikings have cap issues heading into free agency, but I really like the fit for Dean in coordinator Brian Flores’ defense. Dean, who had four sacks with the Eagles in 2025, is the league’s best blitzing linebacker, and he would join a system that led the NFL in blitz rate at 46.8%.”
Adding Dean to a group that already has Blake Cashman and Andrew Van Ginkel would make them one of the best in the entire NFL.
