“He’s getting better every day. Had an individual workout yesterday. He’s planning on participating in practice today; limited basis. But he is still questionable. So, we’ll just have to see how practice goes,” Davis said on Friday.

The 7-footer has missed North Carolina’s last two games. The Tar Heels went 1-1 in that stretch, splitting contests against Pittsburgh and NC State.
North Carolina’s Henri Veesaar (lower extremity) is questionable for Saturday’s game against Syracuse, per a school spokesman.
Veesaar was a late scratch for UNC’s win over Pittsburgh. He entered that night dealing with the flu — the primary concern at the time — while the staff also monitored a lower-body issue. He went through stretching with his teammates but did not fully participate in warmups and was ruled out shortly before tipoff.
He was again listed as questionable ahead of Tuesday’s loss at NC State before being ruled out when the team arrived at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh roughly two hours before game time.

Veesaar has been one of North Carolina’s most productive players this season. He is averaging 16.4 points per game while shooting a team-best 61.5 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from 3-point range. He is also contributing nine rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
Because of his performance, Veesaar is widely projected as a potential first-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He transferred to North Carolina for his redshirt junior season after three years at Arizona.
