Former Tennessee player Nick Reveiz hired as Western Carolina coordinator
Former Tennessee football player Nick Reveiz has been named the defensive coordinator for Western Carolina.
A former star at Farragut, he joined the Vols as a walk-on linebacker in 2007 and later received a scholarship in 2009. A two-time team captain, Reveiz had 168 career tackles, including 81 solos, and was a three-time Academic All-SEC selection. In 2010, he was also a finalist for the Burlsworth Award in 2010, given to a collegiate player who began his career as a walk-on.

He was the defensive coordinator at Charleston Southern from 2023-25, the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at VMI in 2022, and the co-defensive coordinator at Albany State from 2018-21.
Reveiz began his coaching career at Carson-Newman (2013-16) where he was the running backs coach and later linebackers coach.
Last season, Charleston Southern ranked No. 34 in the NCAA FCS in limiting opponents to just 24 points per game, with Reveiz spearheading the defense. The Buccaneers forced 24 fumbles and ranked eighth in the nation in fourth-down defense.
Reveiz was on the preseason roster for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011, playing linebacker and fullback through training camp and in four preseason games.
His father, Fuad, was a placekicker at Tennessee and later played in the NFL for 11 years. His brother, Nick, a walk-on linebacker from Farragut, also played at Tennessee.

Western Carolina will begin spring practice on March 2.
