Before each NFL season, NFL media releases its list of top 100 players as voted on by NFL players.
It’s an undeniably flawed voting process that generates a lot of buzz without generating a reliable top-100 list. Part of the reason the list gets a little weird is because not every player takes it with the utmost sincerity. Take San Francisco 49ers defensive end Sam Okuayinonu, for example. He posted his list on Instagram, and the OurSF49ers Twitter account posted a screenshot of said list.

The list starts with Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. That’s a great starting point considering Garrett is a shoo-in to be the Defensive Player of the Year while on his way to shattering the single-season record for sacks. He’s a future Hall of Famer playing the best football he’s played. Having him at No. 1 makes a ton of sense, particularly coming from a fellow DE. After that, the list devolves into madness where Okuayinonu prioritizes his teammates and only his teammates:
Here is a list of the things we find the most funny about Okuayinonu’s list:
Bryce Huff at No. 2
Bryce Huff ahead of George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey
No first name, just Kittle
Trent Willains
No first or last name, just CMC
Alferd Collins
Nick Bosa at No. 11
Darrell Luther
Siran Neal making the list
Specifying that Siran Neal made the list because of special teams
Fred Warner at No. 12
Jake Tonges?
Curtius Robinson
Shoutout to Sam Okuayinonu for this genuinely entertaining thing.
