Steelers HC Mike Tomlin shares more details on T.J. Watt's lung issue

Following the reports of T.J. Watt’s hospitalization due to a lung ailment, Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin has provided some additional information on the shocking development.

“To make a long story short, he was expressing some discomfort while he was at the facility, yesterday,” Tomlin said. “So, we took him to the docs, they’re doing some procedures. He’s staying overnight in the hospital. He has a lung situation that’s being addressed. I think he has some testing and so forth ahead of him this afternoon. And that’s all I know at this juncture.

“He and I communicated last night. He was comfortable, and that’s all I really have at this point. His status for Monday night is really up in the air. I think what transpires this afternoon is going to provide more information for us.”

If Watt can’t suit up for Monday, the Steelers will lean heavily on Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig to carry their pass rush in the Week 15 matchup against Miami.
