Clemson defensive end T.J. Parker declares for the 2026 NFL draft

Clemson learned Tuesday night that one of its most disruptive defenders is officially moving on. Star edge rusher T.J. Parker announced he’s entering the 2026 NFL Draft, becoming the latest Tiger to lock in his professional plans.

Parker shared a long message of gratitude as part of his decision.

“First, I want to thank God for putting me in this position and guiding every step of my journey. I’m beyond grateful for my family, my wife, my teammates, and my coaches for believing in me, pushing me, and standing by me through everything,” Parker wrote in a social media post.

“Thank you, Clemson, for taking in a young kid with big dreams and helping shape me into the man and player I am today. This program, this school, and this community will always have my heart. I’ll forever love y’all for the support, the lessons, and the moments that changed my life.

“With that being said, after a lot of prayer and conversations with the people closest to me, I’m blessed to announce that I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.”

Projected as a first-round selection by most evaluations, Parker heads out after another strong season. He has delivered five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss this fall, anchoring Clemson’s defensive front while piling up 39 tackles, two breakups and 15 quarterback pressures across 12 starts.

His most memorable outing came in the regular-season finale against South Carolina. Parker tore through the Gamecocks for four tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery, earning ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. It also gave him his third recovery of the year and tied him for fourth on Clemson’s career list.

The junior’s career totals continue stacking up historically. His latest performance pushed him to 21.5 career sacks, moving him past Chester McGlockton and into the program’s top ten. He also joins Vic Beasley as the only players under Dabo Swinney to produce multiple games with at least three sacks.

Before the season began, Parker had already built a résumé that featured 105 tackles, 32 stops for loss, 16.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and several pass breakups in his first two years on campus. He burst onto the scene with 5.5 sacks as a freshman and raised that number to 11 as a sophomore.

With Parker’s announcement, Clemson now has four players planning to enter the draft, joining Avieon Terrell, Antonio Williams and Peter Woods.
