Taevon Welle nets five goals in Bemidji's win over Prowlers

Dec. 4—THIEF RIVER FALLS — It was Taevon Welle’s night on Tuesday.

The Bemidji High School boys hockey senior forward scored five goals in the Lumberjacks’ 6-5 road win over Thief River Falls.

Welle scored twice in the first and third periods and once in the second. Joel Prokop broke the 5-5 tie seven and a half minutes into the third period to give BHS a 6-5 lead.

Spencer Anderson and Hudson Brouse scored twice for the Prowlers, while Johnny Rogalla scored once.

Quinn Niemi had four assists for Bemidji, while Cal Mattfield had three. Thief River Falls went 3-for-7 on the power play.

Jack Norgaard made 16 saves for the Jacks in goal. Cooper Roff stopped 31 shots for TRF.
