Projecting the Falcons' 53-man roster after preseason opener

The Atlanta Falcons got off to a promising start in their preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, but the game was suspended after Lions safety Morice Norris was hospitalized to begin the fourth quarter. The Falcons still had a nice showing in the three quarters of football that were played, especially on defense.

The entire defensive line played well, creating good pressure throughout the first half. Linebacker Josh Woods was dominant and along with edge rusher Arnold Ebiketie. Second-year defensive linemen Brandon Dorlus and cornerback Natrone Brooks had solid performances as well.

Offensively, there were a few standouts, including wide receiver Dylan Drummond, who caught all eight of his targets for a team-high 63 receiving yards. While the running game stalled out, quarterback Easton Stick had a solid outing.
