This offseason, and even since camp started, the Raiders have been collecting former high profile defenders. First it was LB Devin White, then safety turned linebacker Jamal Adams. And today it was former first round pick Terrell Edmunds.
The Steelers selected Edmunds with the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent the first five years of his career in Pittsburgh, even putting up an impressive 105 tackles in his second season.
The last couple seasons, however, he has been unable to stick with a team. He split the 2023 season between the Eagles and Titans and last season between the Jaguars, a return stint with the Steelers, and then finished the season with the Chargers.
At just 28 years old, it’s not a good sign that he’s remained unsigned until now. And he’s got a lot of catching up to do, so with just one week left of camp, it’s hard to imagine him making the squad. But if he can make an impression, he may have a shot at the practice squad and from there, anything can happen.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders waived/injured recently signed WR Seth Williams.
