Philadelphia announced two roster moves on Sunday as the team signed long snapper Christian Johnstone and waived defensive back BJ Mayes

Philadelphia announced two roster moves on Sunday as the team signed long snapper Christian Johnstone and waived defensive back BJ Mayes.

Johnstone spent five seasons at Appalachian State and was initially invited to the Broncos’ rookie mini camp after going undrafted in 2025.

The addition of Johnstone comes ahead of Philadelphia’s preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, with Charlie Hughlett as the only other long snapper on the roster. Still, Hughlett was limited at Sunday’s practice due to a neck injury.

Mayes signed with the Eagles as an undrafted player out of Texas A&M.
