Last season there was a clear disconnect between the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterbacks and the Steelers coaches. Pittsburgh brought in Russell Wilson but he seemed to always be at odds with head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith about how the offense should go.
Now this season, Aaron Rodgers has replaced Wilson, and reports are that Smith, at least, is willing to work with Rodgers to create an offense more suited to him. We hope this translates to something less conservative than the run-heavy system Smith and, by extension, Tomlin want to run.
Speaking of Tomlin, you know he is going to have his hands all over this offense. What exactly that means remains to be seen but if this team is going to win in 2025, the offense needs a guiding voice and one vision for how the offense will run.
We think when it comes down to it, Rodgers is going to do with he wants on the field, much like when Ben Roethlisberger was the starting quarterback and he’d just override whoever was sending in the plays. But go to the post above and vote for who you think will truly run the Steelers offense in 2025.
