  • Chubb posted a farewell message on Instagram thanking Browns fans, teammates, and the city of Cleveland.
  • Chubb is expected to eventually be inducted into the Browns’ Ring of Honor.

Reaching the end of an era, the Cleveland Browns said goodbye to long-time running back Nick Chubb after he signed with the Houston Texans.

The Browns have said their piece on what Chubb has meant to their franchise, and now the running back has taken his turn.

Throughout his lengthy letter written on his Instagram account, Chubb thanked Browns fans, his teammates, and the city of Cleveland for what they have meant to him over the last seven seasons. He went on to say how the city of Cleveland and the Browns deserve to be winners and that the resilience of the fans will always shine through. Then he ended his love letter to the city with a heartfelt goodbye:

“This isn’t goodbye to what we built; it’s a thank you. For the trust, the passion, and the moments that made me feel like I belonged here from day one. Cleveland, you’ll always have a piece of my heart. Until we meet again.”

Truly a fan favorite, Chubb will find himself in the Browns’ Ring of Honor whenever he decides to call it a career and hang up his cleats. Chubb meant so much to the city of Cleveland, and the city of Cleveland meant so much to him. As Chubb pens, “Until we meet again.”

For now, the fanbase will rally behind the rookies, Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson, to fill the void left by the Pro Bowl running back.
