Lois Boisson Surges 296 spots in WTA Rankings following French Open Semifinal Run

French tennis star Lois Boisson, an unexpected semifinalist at the French Open, surged 296 positions in the most recent WTA rankings, published on Monday, achieving a personal best of #65.

Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff occupy the top two rankings following their finals appearance in Paris, where American Gauff triumphed over World #1 Sabalenka in a three-set match.

Boisson earned a wild card entry a year after surgery on her left knee, competing in her first Grand Slam while ranked 361st globally.

The 22-year-old defeated World #3 Jessica Pegula and the sixth-ranked Mirra Andreeva before bowing out to Gauff in the semifinals.

Iga Swiatek, the then-reigning three-time champion of the French Open, drops two spots to seventh after her loss to Sabalenka in the semifinals.

China’s Zheng Qinwen climbs to fifth place after reaching the quarterfinals in Paris, where she claimed Olympic Gold last year.
