Fabregas rejects Inter
Cesc Fabregas has turned down the chance to manage bruised Champions League finalists Inter Milan.
The Arsenal legend will remain at Como 1907, who finished in 10th place under his tenure in their first season back in Serie A after a 21-year absence.
Inter – smashed 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the final in Munich last weekend – are looking for a new boss following the departure of Simone Inzaghi.
Yet their attempts to nab rising star Fabregas, 38, have failed.
Major Wolves exit
Wolves have parted company with their sporting director Matt Hobbs after a decade at Molineux.
The club are now in talks to appoint Domenico Teti as their new technical director as part of a major restructure behind the scenes.
Hobbs joined Wolves in 2015 and has made his way through the ranks as the club’s chief scout, head of recruitment and most recently as sporting director.
But he has left the club by mutual consent after previously turning down an approach from Southampton.
Wolves have now turned their attention to Teti who is keen to team up again with manager Vitor Pereira.
The pair worked together at Saudi side Al-Shabab last year and the 48-year-old Italian’s arrival would strengthen Pereira’s position at Wolves considerably.
Pereira is believed to want to take a more hands-on approach to transfers and trusts Teti completely after the Milan-born administrator appointed him for Al-Shabab.
Tyrone Mings’ new deal
Tyrone Mings signed a contract extension that will keep him at Villa Park until 2027.
Then set his sights on delivering a trophy for the fans who supported him through his ACL hell.
The 32-year-old England defender feared his career was over when he ruptured his ACL for the second time in his career, against Newcastle in August 2023.
But after 445 days on the sidelines, Mings returned to make 22 appearances for Villa in all competitions last season, including 14 in the Premier League.
