You never quite know what you’ll find lurking on used car lots these days. Among the expected mix of high-mileage commuters and questionably modified trucks, every now and then, something truly unexpected shows up. Like a 2002 GMC Yukon with fewer miles than most people rack up in a single year.
This particular GMC Yukon, listed by Gangrud Nissan in Wisconsin, has covered just 7,944 miles (12,784 km) in the past 23 years. The low mileage is reflected in the price, which is an eye-popping $42,995. We understand the nostalgia for low-mileage cars from the early 2000s, but surely no 2002 Yukon is worth this much, right?

The selling dealer hasn’t provided any details about the GMC’s ownership or service history, nor why it has been driven so little. It’s also only shared some low-resolution photos of the Yukon, making it hard to spot any of the minor defects it may have. Nonetheless, it looks to have stood the test of time and basically presents how it would have been when it first left the factory.
Adorning the exterior is a shade of Fire Red, showing no signs of ageing, so it’s safe to say the Yukon has spent most of its life stored inside. It also retains the original chrome front and rear bumpers, as well as the 16-inch wheels.
The cabin also appears to be in good condition, considering the vehicle’s age. Sure, there are some cracks and creases on the cream-colored leather seats, but there are no obvious signs of damage, and everything appears operational.
Powering the modern classic Yukon is a 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8, which delivered 285 hp back in the day. While some of those horses have likely escaped over the years, the low mileage should allow the car to largely match its original performance. It’s also just as practical as ever, offering three rows of spacious seating.
Whether the near-showroom condition justifies the price depends on how much you value originality and nostalgia. It’s a well-preserved piece of early 2000s Americana, but at this cost, you’d better really miss the days of big-body SUVs and CD changers. You can check out the listing for yourself over here.
