No team in the NFL signed more undrafted rookies following the 2025 draft than the Jacksonville Jaguars did.
According to Spotrac, GM James Gladstone and the Jaguars would make 22 additions to the Jacksonville roster after the draft concluded. Minnesota and Baltimore made the second-most with 21 each, while Carolina and Seattle each made 20.
With that many additions, the Jaguars also rank first in total contract value spent on UDFAs, and they handed out the fourth-most guaranteed money as well.
With a new leadership structure in place, Gladstone has very quickly reshaped the Jaguars’ roster this offseason. Jacksonville would make 12 outside free agent signings and they were the only team in the NFL to not re-sign one of their own unrestricted free agents.
The Jaguars also added nine players through the draft, along with the aforementioned 22 UDFAs. On a 91-man roster, that is a total of 43 new players who have been brought in, or another way to put it, nearly half of the roster has been turned over in a matter of months.
As Liam Coen described after a recent OTA practice, competition throughout the roster is a key point of emphasis this offseason, and bringing in a hefty number of new players will help cultivate that.
“I mean, that’s a space that we want to continue to tap and make sure that the competition-level across the roster is as good as we can make it,” James Gladstone said after the NFL draft, via Jaguars on SI.
“I think with the idea that there will be so many undrafted college free agents that we bring in, that inherently creates a dynamic in which people are fighting for jobs, people fighting for spots, and you feel that when those guys get in the building, get on the grass. It’s something that, as I think back to my experience with the [Los Angeles] Rams, we’ve gone into a draft with only 45 players on-roster. So, this is a healthier version of that, so to speak, if you’re looking at more being healthy.”
