Charles Oliveira named Forrest Griffin Community Award winner for 2025 UFC Hall of Fame

Charles Oliveira will receive recognition for his contributions outside of the octagon during the 2025 UFC Hall of Fame ceremony.

The former UFC lightweight champion and owner of the most finishes, submission wins and bonuses in company history, Oliveira has been selected as the winner of the 2025 Forrest Griffin Community Award, which highlights an athlete who has done “exceptional volunteer and charity work and the meaningful impact their efforts have on the community.”

“Charles is not only a great athlete, but he’s also an amazing role model who enjoys giving back to the community,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a news release. “Charles does a great job of helping local youth in Sao Paulo by providing them with free education and jiu-jitsu training at his institute, and he’s directly helping them create a better life for themselves in the process. It’s an honor to present him with his award.”

Oliveira will be granted a $25,000 donation to the charity of his choice through the UFC Foundation.

The majority of Oliveira’s charity work comes through his Charles do Bronxs Institute (ICBronxs), which offer free education, nutrition and jiu-jitsu to underprivileged youth in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Other fighters to be acknowledged with the Forrest Griffin Community award include Dustin Poirier (2021), Max Holloway (2022), Giga Chikadze (2022), Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (2023), as well as Beneil Dariush (2024).

Oliveira joins the 2025 class of the UFC Hall of Fame that includes Robbie Lawler (Modern Wing), Amanda Nunes (Modern Wing), Craig Pilligian (Contributor Wing) and Israel Adesanya vs. Kelvin Gastelum from UFC 236 (Fight Wing).
