The Dallas influencer who took her business feud wayyy too far just got some more bad news about what she’ll have to do to pay for her crimes.

A federal judge sentenced 35-year-old Ashley Grayson to 10 years in federal prison for the 2022 murder-for-hire plot. Prosecutors said Grayson was an internet business influencer who gained popularity around her online courses she built. However, in 2021, she had a fallout with another woman who ran a similar business based out of Southaven, Miss. Grayson suspected the woman was trolling her and contacted an old associate to help handle the problem.

Prosecutors say in September of 2022, Grayson flew the associate out to Dallas to discuss a “business opportunity.” In that discussion, she offered a $20,000 bounty for the killing of the Mississippi businesswoman, another woman who gave Grayson’s business negative press and also her ex-boyfriend. She also offered another $5,000 to expedite the killing of the rival businesswoman.

The scheme was busted when the associate faked the murder attempt and swindled Grayson out of another $10,000. However, the associate was never planning on carrying out the killing. They took the money and sent a recording of Grayson promising to pay for the murder to the police.

In July of 2023, both Grayson and her husband, Joshua, were charged of one count of use of interstate facility in commission of murder-for-hire. Joshua was acquitted but Grayson was found guilty, per the Justice Department.

She’s now set to spend the next 10 years behind bars in federal prison.

“This murder-for-hire plot underscores the strength of joint federal law enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens in our community,” said Special Agent in Charge Joe Carrico of the FBI Nashville Field Office, Memphis Resident Agency. “This sentence demonstrates the commitment of the FBI and our partners to investigate violent crimes and root out those who seek to prey on the public.”
