‘I’ve never been more proud,’ Mardy Fish enjoys banter between Taylor Fritz and Arthur Rinderknech as he shows his full support to the American at Wimbledon

The match at Wimbledon on July 4th between America’s 13th seed Taylor Fritz and unseeded Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech was not without any drama. Fritz’s compatriot Mardy Fish , a former tennis player, liked what ensued after the second-round match and expressed it on X.

When Rinderknech got to know about his second-round opponent, he tried to pull Fritz’s legs by reminding him of their 2023 French Open second-round match. Fritz complained about the behavior of the crowd who were showing their full support to the home favorite Rinderknech, though he ended up losing the match by a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 scoreline. The World No.76, before the second round, took a sarcastic dig at Fritz by saying that the American wouldn’t ‘cry’ while playing in the calm atmosphere at Wimbledon.
