Tennessee Vols LHP Zander Sechrist names the 3 loudest moments he experienced at Lindsey Nelson Stadium

Tennessee Vols LHP Zander Sechrist pitched his final game at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Sunday, allowing just one unearned run over 6.1 innings in UT’s win against Evansville.

Sechrist exited his final game at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to a standing ovation from the crowd.

On Monday, Sechrist joined 104.5 The Zone’s 3HL and he was asked what the three loudest moments were that he experienced during his four seasons in Knoxville.

“That’s easy, last night (the game three Super Regional win against Evansville) was one of them,” said Sechrist. “Drew Gilbert, walk off grand slam in the regional (in 2021). And then when (former Vanderbilt RHP) Jack Leiter was pitching here, I think it was my freshman year, whenever (Evan) Russell hit three homers and two off him (Leiter). That was another loud environment. Those are my top three.”

There’s no doubt that Lindsey Nelson Stadium has developed into one of the best baseball atmospheres in the nation over the last several years.

And Sechrist was fortunate enough to experience all of those great moments as a player. Maybe he’ll get to celebrate the ultimate moment later this month as Tennessee continues their pursuit of a national championship, starting with a matchup in Omaha against the Florida State Seminoles on Friday night.
