But now a dentist has revealed the shocking truth of what really happens underneath the sparkly white veneers.

Particularly popular in the world of influencers, celebs and Love Island stars, veneers are often viewed as a cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat a variety of concerns, whether that’s chipped, broken, or discoloured gnashers.
Either permanent or clip-on, veneers are made of porcelain and cover only the front surface of the tooth and can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years.
But as the industry is booming and each years sees more than 35,000 British and Irish citizens jet off to Turkey to have the procedure perfumed on the cheap, one dentist has spilled the beans on what happens inside your mouth.
In a gross video posted on TikTok, the dental guru, only known as Dr. P., took a look at the real teeth hiding behind a client’s porcelain white veneers.

Although to strangers it may look that the woman has the perfect, mega-white Hollywood smile, the reality’s slightly different, leaving thousands horrified.
Once the Beverly Hills-based dentist lifted one of the front veneers, mortified viewers could see the natural tooth, which had been drilled down to extreme levels.
The mini tooth was also significantly darker than the pristine white veneers which were sitting on top and had slight discoloration.
Since being shared on the platform, where the dental pro posts under the username @smilesbydrp, the video has gone viral, racking up close to a whopping 2million views in less than a week.

They noted that if you notice a persistent bad smell in your mouth, it indicates something wrong with your oral cavity.

“In addition, if the veneers are not properly sealed or bonded to your teeth, plaque, food, and drinks can gain access into the space between the veneer and the tooth, causing bad breath, staining, tooth decay and gum disease,” as reported by The Tab.
