‘It’s been a very difficult year’

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has looked back on a “very difficult” year for Prince William and Kate Middleton as the pair mark their wedding anniversary.

Speaking to The Sun he explained: “This will not be an anniversary that will be easy. All sorts of memories will come back. It does looks as if we’ll probably get a photograph of some sort or another.

“When they celebrated 10 years they put out a charming video of the family. Last year they were on bikes – that was a delightful photograph.

“This year, of course we know that Catherine is battling preventative cancer, and she’s recovered from as substantial abdominal operation.

“It’s been a very difficult year, and clearly they’re very close knit family.

“They will rejoice in each other’s company. They will involve the family and they will undoubtedly feel that the pressure it wouldn’t be human to assume anything else.”

Will and Kate celebrate 13 years of marriage

Today marks the 13th wedding anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The pair are likely to celebrate the occasion privately with their family as Kate continues to recover following her cancer diagnosis.

“They will undoubtedly be celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary privately,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News.

“This year will be very different from previous years as Catherine is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after recovering from abdominal surgery.”
