She may have been born in Chicago and raised in Washington D.C., but former first daughter Malia Obama looks like she’s fitting right in as a California girl.

Although she’s doing everything to stay out of the spotlight, including dropping Obama from her name, Malia is often photographed on her way to the gym or a hike. The eldest Obama daughter was recently spotted heading out for a hike with a friend looking fit and fabulous in black leggings, a sports bra and a green cardigan – pretty much the uniform of choice of fit it-girls in California.

As the photo makes its way around the internet, folks can’t help but point out just how much the Harvard grad looks like the perfect combination of her former first parents, commenting on her beautiful long hair and athletic build. But fashion-lovers are zooming in on a pair of super-chic hiking boots from 1017 A L Y X 95M Obama is wearing.

“Her hiking boots really take the whole ‘outdoor chic’ thing to a new level!”” She’s hiking in style! Love the boots, Malia!” and “Wow, Malia Obama really knows how to rock those hiking boots!” are just a few of the examples of the shoutouts she’s received on X for her stylish shoes.

In November 2022, former First Lady Michelle Obama confirmed to TODAY’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that daughters Malia and Sasha have been living together in California. And they have been spotted living their best lives ever since. Malia’s short film, “The Heart,” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival this year, while Sasha was pursuing a degree at the University of Southern California.
