I love my $14 flawless makeup buy – fans say it’s a Charlotte Tilbury dupe but you’re likely using it all wrong
A MAKEUP fan has shared a common mistake people are making with a flawless beauty buy.
While she couldn’t speak for everyone, she said she witnessed many use the makeup product incorrectly.

Maddy (@maddygam) shared the beauty tip in a viral TikTok video.
“We’ve been using the Elf Halo Glow wrong this entire time,” she said.
She explained that she had the realization after the glow booster failed to meet the hype for her.
“This entire time, I’ve been wondering why I hated it,” she said.
She revealed she’d been using the $14 Elf Halo Glow as if it were a foundation, applying it directly to the skin.
The correct technique, however, is to mix the product into a foundation.
To demonstrate the difference the method made, she did a demo on half her face.
On one side, she applied her foundation with the Halo Glow mixed in.

She blended out the base makeup with a sponge, shocked and pleased by the “super glowy” look.
The other side, with just the Halo Glow on its own, was dark in comparison.

On top of that, she noticed that the Halo Glow on its own emphasized her skin texture.
“This side is showing all of my blemishes,” she said.
Viewers shared their various methods of application with the Elf Halo Glow.
“I use it first and then put my foundation over it and it looks really good,” said one commenter.

“I use it with a tinted moisturizer and it looks so gorgeous,” said another.
“I mix mine with mineral sunscreen as a primer and it makes my make up FLAWLESS,” said a third.
One viewer even incorporated the product into her skincare as a natural radiant booster.
“I mix it with moisturizer before putting it on,” she said.
She revealed that the addition of the Halo Glow helped her moisturizer look less dewy.
A few were in the know, explaining that the cult-favorite tint was a dupe for a luxury brand.
“Yes its the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter dupe and that’s supposed to go under foundation too,” said one commenter.
Some were shocked to stumble across the makeup revelation.
