X Factor star reveals cameo in Four Weddings And A Funeral before show fame – admitting he was almost fired over blunder

X FACTOR star Mike Christie has revealed his surprise cameo in Four Weddings And A Funeral before shooting to fame on the ITV singing show – and he was almost fired over a blunder on set.

Mike, who placed fourth on the first series of The X Factor as part of G4 in 2004, makes the revelation on Saturday Night with Hayley Palmer tonight.

Hayley is interested to know a ‘fun fact’ about Mike and the rest of his band mates Jonathan Ansell, Duncan Sandilands and Jai McDowall.

When it comes to Mike’s turn, the presenter reads out: “You appeared in Four Weddings and A Funeral.”

Mike replies: “I did. Even longer ago than when we started a band. that’s probably coming up to 30 years ago.

He continues: “We were in all the weddings and funnily enough we were passing the Royal Naval College chapel today on the way here.

“That was the one with where Rowan Atkinson as the priest was filmed.

“He was amazing with us. We obviously knew him as Mr Bean, but he had so much time and had photos with him, autographs.

“He was so brilliant. It made us feel so as ease.

“There was a line in it where he said ‘Father, Son and Holy Ghost’ and we were laughing and the director got really annoyed with us.

Four Weddings And A Funeral is a popular romcom from the 90s.

The blockbuster stars the likes of Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell and Simon Callow.

The film follows a man called Charles (Hugh Grant) and his friend’s romances.

G4 shot to fame 22 years ago on the ITV singing competition.

The group were mentored by Louis Walsh.
