Rihanna Struggled to Dress Her Adorable Boys Until She Turned to the Obvious Choice

Since she burst onto the scene in 2005 with her massive hit single, “Pon De Replay,” Rihanna has evolved into a style icon – pushing boundaries, setting trends and even launching a lingerie brand of her own with Savage X Fenty.

So we were shocked to learn that when she had children, she had no idea how to dress them.

The artist and self-made billionaire spoke with “Entertainment Tonight” on April 17 at a launch event for her FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone shoe, where she admitted that when it came to dressing her sons RZA (23 months) and Riot (7 months), she initially struggled to find style inspiration until she looked to the most obvious influence – their dad, A$AP Rocky.

“When I dress them, I always try to dress them like Rocky,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I always envision dressing a girl, right? We all do as women, like, ‘Oh, I’m going to dress her in these cute little things,’ but then you get sons and you’re like, ‘What do I do?’ and I was like, ‘You know what, I have the biggest hack — their dad.’ “

Lucky for RiRi, her kids’ dad is a guy who loves to push the envelope with his style. So we’re not talking about Hawaiian shirts or socks with sandals here. In fact, in a recent conversation withInterview, the “Rude Boy” singer credited her partner with all of the style swag in the relationship.

“Isn’t he the best? I be feeling bummy as shit next to this man. I feel like, g*ddamn, I look like his assistant,” she said. “I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, ‘Why you got to do that to me?’”

Rihanna plans to share that creative style with the rest of us, using her partnership with Puma to create her own line for kids.

“I’ve gotten the opportunity to start that with Puma, designing kids shoes through the Avantis and now we’re doing the Creepers,” she said. “It’s really fun, it’s cute to see my kids like wear stuff that… I made and designed. It’s really incredible.”
