It seems like Kanye West is willing to protect those he loves.

The Chicago rapper was named as the primary suspect in a battery report, resulting in an investigation being launched by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to see if the claims made against him are true, according to TMZ.

Ye and his wife, Bianca Censori, were out together late Tuesday night when a man allegedly pushed or grabbed Censori. In response, West allegedly punched the man in the face and took off just moments later.

While the victim, who has not been named, did not require any special treatment for injuries, he did share his grievances with the police.

In a statement to TMZ, representatives from Ye’s team said that the victim “didn’t merely collide into her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.”

It’s not the first time Ye has been accused of hitting others.

In a lawsuit filed weeks ago, a former staffer of the Chicago rapper accused him of threatening to punch him in the face after he was pleading to keep his job after West said he was fired.

In January 2022, Ye was named as a suspect in a criminal battery investigation by the LAPD after he allegedly punched a fan who was simply asking for an autograph.

While the allegations sounded pretty serious, West was never arrested and no charges were brought against him, “After a thorough and careful review of all the evidence, our office is declining to file based on no reasonable likelihood of conviction,” according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
