A direct attack by Iran on Israel could be “imminent” as revenge for the killing of a top Iranian commander in Damascus earlier this month.
Iran has so far been reluctant “to be directly involved in the war with Israel”, said Sky News Middle East correspondent Alistair Bunkall. But intelligence sources in Washington are reportedly saying that Iran is planning a direct hit after the attack on the Iranian embassy complex in Syria that killed senior Iranian military officials.
