‘This pact kills!’: protests as European parliament votes to tighten migration laws – video report

The European parliament has passed sweeping changes to the EU’s migration laws. Supporters called the move historic but NGOs said it was a step backwards for human rights. The vote ends eight years of deadlock over efforts to tighten border management and asylum processes in the 27-member bloc. Protesters chanting ‘this pact kills, vote no!’ interrupted the proceedings while further demonstrations took place outside the parliament building in Brussels
