Ross Kemp admits to brutal prank on camera crew in gang documentary as they face VERY invasive search from prison guards

ROSS Kemp will fess up to a brutal prank on his camera crew as he appears on Mel Geidroyc’s series Unforgivable this week.

The former EastEnders actor and telly hardman, 59, who has travelled the world visiting some of the toughest gangs and most brutal prisons, was in Central America with his team for one episode.

And after heading to prison and being told everyone was strip searched by guards, he tricked his team into thinking they were next.

Ross said: “We were in El Salvador for the second series of Gangs, and we were with the little psychopaths of Delgado – a nice bunch.

“Chucho, who is the leader, liked walking around in a vest with his AK47 in his arms, and his wife was in prison.

“While in prison, she murders and opposing gang member and so we have to go and visit her in prison.

“The day before, our director – who was far braver than the cameraman, the sound man and me, who were b****ing all the time – goes into the female prison the day before.

“She comes back, and she goes, ‘Yes, they will allow us in and we can meet Chucho’s wife, but one thing though, I was cavity searched, and they don’t use gloves, they use bags from the supermarket and they are not fully reconditioned.

“I go in and I go, ‘Right, let’s do this’, so I’m like trousers down, pants down in front of these two prison guards, and they are just looking at me.

“I was like, ‘Are we going to do this or not?’ but he goes, ‘Senor Kemp, we only cavity search the women’.

“It occurs to me that the camera crew have been b****ing a lot and they don’t know what’s happened inside the room so, as I walk through the door, hobbling, I turn to them and go, ‘Absolutely fine… she’s got very big fingers’.”

It comes after Ross hinted at a return to EastEnders, admitting that he “owes it so much and he’s unemployed now”.

Ross Kemp opens up about a return to EastEnders and beloved co-star Barbara Windsor

The actor played hardman Grant Mitchell in the BBC soap from 1990 to 1999 and then again from 2005 to 2006.

He last made an appearance in EastEnders in 2016, yet fans of the soap are still desperate for him to return once again.

Despite a wide-ranging career since he left the show – including hard hitting documentaries and his relatively new role as a quiz show host on Bridge of Lies – Ross hasn’t totally closed the door on returning to EastEnders at some point.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun’s TV Mag, Ross said: “If you look at what year it was, it was 89 to 99 Which is quite a long time ago.

“And for the last 25-30 years, I’ve been making documentaries.

“I had gone back and I went back specifically for Barbara’s [Windor’s] leaving storyline because she asked me, and she was a very dear friend of mine.

“But, you know, I owe EastEnders, a lot. And I’m not one of those people that would ever try to forget that, not that I would probably ever be able to.

“But I wouldn’t want to either, you know, it was a platform that helped me travel the world and meet some of the most bizarre and most interesting, and occasionally some of the most dangerous people that exist in it, and on it!”

Asked if he would return, he replied: “I would never, ever say no to that. Why would I?

“And I don’t think I’ve ever said no to most things that I’ve been offered to do. You would be cutting your nose off to spite your face to say no.

“And also it would look unkind, I think. You know, as I say, I owe it so much.”
