Here’s What We Know About Meek Mill Threatening to Hurt Wale on Social Media

It’s been one weird weekend in hip-hop. First J. Cole responded to Kendrick Lamar with a diss track and then apologized for it days later. Then, GloRilla and JT ignited a beef after the release of the Memphis rapper’s song, “Aite.”

Now, Meek Mill and Wale are going at it over a photo.

If you recall, Meek Mill and Wale were once both signed to Maybach Music Group, the record label founded by Rick Ross. The two both broke into the mainstream rap scene during the early 2010s and were considered to be a part of the new up-and-coming generation of talented MCs along with Big Sean, J. Cole, and many others.

But Wale has since left the label since dropping the 2021 album, “Folarin II.”

So while it seemed like the two once had a positive relationship, that’s all in the past now.

On Monday, out of nowhere, the Philadelphia rapper tweeted, “Wale never liked me. Now ima treat him like the streets everytime I see him… I have him 1000 chances these guys be thinking they linking with the enemy clown a** n***a I wish I woulda knew the other day I woulda stretched you!”

Meek seemed to be frustrated with the DMV rapper taking a photo with a man by the name of Dean Stay Reddy.

After his initial posts, Meek Mill went on to write several tweets where he threatened the DMV rapper and Reddy, saying everything from “F**k you n***as!” to “Wale scared of Deen he probably ain’t wanna take pic lol.”

Without naming him, Wale eventually responded, writing in a tweet, “When u get in other people unserious drama in this industry 90pct of the time they be back friends… eventually ..and then u look silly… in the end… so I love minding my business. If a photo can create such vitriol, one has to ask himself some questions. Happy Monday.”

Reddy didn’t stay silent either. On his Instagram story, he said, “Calm ya sassy down!”

He added, “Me or @wale had nothing bad to say bout you! We didn’t even speak on you, you ain’t NOBODY mf calm down.” and “Get off twitter and go find peace.”

Allegedly, the beef between Wale and Meek Mill began nine years ago in 2015 after the Philly rapper was frustrated with his fellow MMG signee after he didn’t promote his album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money.”

But in January, Meek made it seem like they were cool again, saying on X in January, “We had our arguments b4 years back but I came in this game getting money with him …I’m not holding no grudges against my peoples.. and for what???”

Seems that is all out the window now.
