I refuse to donate a kidney to my sister – people can’t blame me after her marriage, they say she reaped what she sowed

A RESENTFUL man refused to donate a kidney to his dying sister thanks to her marriage.

Peple agreed his decision was justified and she didn’t deserve his help.

Redditor Delicious-Hat-2395 shared the family dilemma in a post.

“I’m a 35 year old gay man. When I was in high school, I was bullied severely by ‘Darren,'” he explained.

“I won’t go into the details, but it was really bad, past the point of typical highschool douchebaggery.”

After coming out to a friend sophomore year, he quickly realized it was a mistake as the information made the rounds.

“Before this, Darren had targeted me for being unathletic and wearing glasses and had done this to a couple other kids as well, but after I was outed it was only me, and only because of my sexuality,” he said.

After a few miserable years of bullying, he decided to move away for college.

“I made friends, even got a boyfriend, and pretty much forgot about Darren, until one Thanksgiving, my sister ‘Ellie’ brought home her boyfriend Darren,” he said.

Unfortunately, he found out immediately that Darren had not changed over the years.

“No joke, the first thing he said when he saw me was ‘Damn Ellie, you didn’t tell me your brother’s a f*g,'” he said.

Worse than the insulting comment, he was disappointed by his sister’s reaction.

“Ellie f**king laughed, as did my dad. I was kinda stunned, but I didn’t yell or start a fight, I just got up and walked out,” he said.

“After the fact, my family tried to play it off as Darren was joking because he was nervous meeting the family and they told me that he and Ellie were serious so I had to get over it.

“I just told them all that I wouldn’t be attending any event where Darren was. In private, I told Ellie that I felt hurt that she’d date Darren, knowing what he did to me.”

Despite the heart-to-heart, his sister felt he was being “too sensitive” and asserted that she had the “right to date who she likes.”

If I were to do this, I’d have to drive three states back to my hometown, miss who knows how much work, and give up a piece of my flesh, all for the woman who dated and eventually married the guy who made my high school days a living hell.

He couldn’t help but agree and instead, decided to distance himself from his family.

That is, until his mom reached out to inform him that his sister was in the hospital and needed a kidney transplant.

“The rest of the family had been tested and none could donate, and my mom wanted me to get tested because I’m her full brother with a high likelihood of a match,” he explained.

“The thing is, after all these years, Ellie is basically a stranger to me. If I were to do this, I’d have to drive three states back to my hometown, miss who knows how much work, and give up a piece of my flesh, all for the woman who dated and eventually married the guy who made my high school days a living hell.

“I told my mom that I wouldn’t be getting tested and she freaked out at me over the phone.

“I quickly hung up on her, but before I did I heard her call me vindictive and a monster for refusing to save my sister’s life.”

Unlike his family’s explosive reaction, many agreed that he was justified in his response and feelings.

“When our family is toxic like yours is, we need to cut them out like a tumor,” said one commenter.

‘It’s your body and your choice. They have not treated you like you matter so they will reap what they sowed. They are the a**holes, not you. You are not guilty.”

“You are not obligated to donate your kidney to anyone, let alone someone who treated you the way your sister did,” agreed another.

“We all must live with the consequences of our behavior and actions.”
