Growing up on television, Kim Fields has had much of her life play out in public, including the guys she’s kissed – something she shared during a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Although she was there to promote her Netflix series “The Upshaws,” Kimmel didn’t miss the opportunity to take Fields down memory lane, playing a clip of her Michael Jackson tribute song “Dear Michael” from her 1984 album, “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.”

But he also got her to spill the tea on a kiss she had with actor Jason Bateman. Fields, who soared to teen stardom in the eighties as Tootie on the NBC sitcom “The Facts of Life,” told Kimmel that she and Bateman were friends as teens and frequently saw each other during game show appearances. Bateman had a role on the sitcom “It’s Your Move,” a spinoff of “Silver Spoons” at the time.

Fields says the whole thing went down when she invited Bateman to come and watch her perform “Dear Michael” at The Tropicana.

“There was this kind of chemistry, this vibe and so I invited him to come and watch me perform, and he did,” she said. “Before I went on stage, we were backstage and had this sweet teen kiss. And then it was like that happened, and then we just went on with our lives and our careers.”

Although Fields says she and Bateman have “the utmost respect for one another,” don’t count on the two of them locking lips again anytime soon. She has been married to Christopher Morgan since 2007. The pair have two sons, Sebastian, 16, and Quincy, 10. Meanwhile, Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka, have been married since 2001 and have two daughters, 17-year-old daughter Francesca Nora Bateman and 12-year-old Maple Sylvie Bateman.
