Uncle Luke’s Wild Theory Behind Diddy’s Downfall

Sean “Diddy” Combs has a roster full of celebrity friends, but they’ve been noticeably quiet as his legal troubles have mounted. Whether they condemn him or support him, it’s been interesting to see how quickly the A-list has made him persona non grata. Of course, the lack of statements from major stars doesn’t mean he’s completely without supporters. 2 Live Crew frontman Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, has been vocal in his belief about who’s really behind Diddy’s downfall.

In the wake of multiple sexual assault lawsuits being filed against Combs, Campbell took to social media to discuss his theory that the rapper/producer’s legal troubles are related to his lawsuit against spirits company Diageo.

“When you get your billions, and they put you on a pedestal, that’s because they put you up on a pedestal,” Campbell said on IG Live. “They made you the guy. They place you on every network. They sold you to all y’all on here.”

According to Page Six, when the outlet reached out to Luke for comment, his representatives responded that his comments came before the Department of Homeland Security raided Diddy’s homes in LA and Miami.

“The comments you hear from Uncle Luke were recorded prior to the raid. Now that this is a live legal case, Uncle Luke is unable to make comments,” said a spokesperson.

Campbell, who recently announced that he’s running for Congress in Florida’s 20th Congressional District, has his own controversial past with women, so he may not be the best person to speak on Diddy’s behalf.

His songs, videos and concerts with 2 Live Crew were known for sexualizing and objectifying women. Yes, his legal fights established the importance of the first amendment in art. But that doesn’t make the lyrics and images any less damaging for women.

Back in November, he denied sexual misconduct allegations by Gloria Velez, who accused him of grooming her in 1994. At this rate, the list of famous men who haven’t been accused of sexual misconduct is easier to navigate than the list of men who have.

As the legal actions against him become more serious, Diddy definitely needs allies to publicly support him, but he probably doesn’t need people like Uncle Luke and R. Kelly backing him up.
