Doja Cat usually loves to battle internet trolls, but this time she has seemingly had enough. On Friday, the “Paint The Town Red” released new cover art for her single, “Masc,” on Instagram. It was a close up shot of her tight, bleach blonde curls.

However, it was only a matter of time before rude commenters likened the image to sheep’s wool—and more disturbingly pubic hair. Doja Cat went on Instagram Live to chastise those who disrespected her, right before she disabled the comments on the post.

“I’m seeing a pattern. I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comments section of people saying is my hair pubic hair, is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool,” she stated. “And it’s not even questions … some people are being like, that’s what it is.”

Ultimately, the 28-year-old artist was over the negativity. “We gotta move forward. Let’s move forward. Let’s grow,” she pleaded. “I can’t tell you what to do. I’m not your f**king parents. I don’t wanna say too much.”

Doja infamously shaved her hair—and her eyebrows—back in 2022, prompting fans to express concern over the star’s behavior. Last month, the emcee said she had enough of social media before deactivating her Instagram account.

She wrote, “hey i’m gonna deactivate because i’m not really feeling this anymore,” in a since-deleted post. Doja Cat added “you guys take care of yourselves. i like coming here to find inspo and see people being creative but i just feel like this is getting to be too much.”

If you ask us, folks were wrong as hell for clowning Doja’s natural hair, which is an inherently powerful statement for Black women. Hopefully, she won’t let the haters get under her skin again.
