Jannik Sinner dethrones Carlos Alcaraz to clinch a new career high of World No. 2 after winning Miami Open title

Italian tennis ace Jannik Sinner achieved his career-high ranking as he dethroned Spanish ace Carlos Alcaraz to become the new World No. 2. This jump in rankings comes after the 22-year-old beat Grigor Dimitrov in the 2024 Miami Open final.

As Sinner beat Dimitrov in straight sets of 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday to clinch the title at the Masters tournament, he gained 400 points which took his total points to 8710 and helped him become the second-ranked player in the world. The Italian is now 65 points ahead of Alcaraz in the ATP rankings.
