Cricket World Cup 2023 top run scorers: Virat Kohli leads the way before India final

Virat Kohli has raced clear atop the run-scorer standings at the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

The India star pummelled his 50th ODI century in Wednesday’s semi-final against New Zealand, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record in the process.

Kohli has also now hit more runs in the Cricket World Cup than any other player has previously managed.

Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer also got in on the act for the hosts, while Kohli had already overtaken South Africa star Quinton de Kock.

He made just three runs as the Proteas suffered semi-final disappointment against Australia to bring an end to their tournament.
