Novak Djokovic has two more events to play before this season ends, but he’ll first take a few days to rest up following the 2023 Paris Masters .
Djokovic has had a really spectacular year so far with some tremendous results, but the job is not finished yet. There are a few things he’d like to do until the season concludes.
Some of those include finishing the year as world number one, which will happen if he wins just one match at the ATP Finals, or if his biggest rival Carlos Alcaraz doesn’t win all of his matches.
Another one is to win the Davis Cup with Serbia, which is the hardest goal of all because it doesn’t only depend on him. It also depends on what his teammates will do.
Another one is to win the ATP Finals, and with the way he played in Paris , it looks very likely. He also went undefeated at the event last year, which certainly adds to his likelihood of winning the trophy again.
The first thing on the menu, though, is a bit of rest. He revealed his plan for the next week ahead of the Turin event.
Yeah, I mean, and now it’s going to be recovery time definitely next three, four days, to really leave the racquet aside and just spend time with the family and recharge, and then go to Torino, where every match is going to be like finals of a big tournament, because you play a top-8 player. You know, every match carries a lot of points, carries a lot of importance.
The event indeed is a pretty big one, but that’s what he plays for – the big goals. We’ll see how things go, but by far the likeliest to go all the way. He’s prepared for four weeks before Paris, so his level is not a surprise. If he won in Turin, it wouldn’t be a surprise either.
