WANT to wear your new boots but dread the blisters they might cause? Fashion fans have found the perfect solution – and it costs just £14.
Particularly popular within the punk and LGBTQ+ community, Dr. Martens have long been a staple in the fashion world – but those who own a freshly snapped up pair will be familiar with the pain it often causes at first.
Just like most sturdy boots and other footwear, Dr. Martens – also known as ”Docs” – are notorious for being almost impossible to break in.
According to the innovator behind this genius buy by the brand Shezza, Tiffany Gil, she first came up with the idea after getting ”horrible blisters” whilst trying to wear no other than… Doc Martens.
”It felt like a knife was digging into my Achilles heel. I would always get blisters and bloody heels after wearing them, even with thick socks.”
Desperate to find a way to break the boots in, the fashion fan turned to advice on social media – however, many of the hacks, for instance, hopping in the shower with her new Docs, just seemed ”silly”.
Then, an idea was born – making a sock with padding in the back, thick enough to prevent against any pair of shoes.
”I took a sewing class at a local junior college, Orange Coast College, where I successfully made my own ultra padded sock.
”From then on, I never got a blister again. It was so easy too! All I had to do is put on a sock. I knew that there were other people out there suffering how I had.

”So, I knew that I had to make more, start a business and sell them to people who had the same problem,” she said.
Since launching her company – something she had no previous experience with – Tiffany has seen Shezza grow from day one, winning almost 30k fans on TikTok alone.
One of their latest videos, for example, has amassed a whopping 6.3million views and huge interest amongst stylish fashionistas.
One person wondered: ”Where were these when I had my socks soaked in 🩸 [blood[ wearing my new doc martens ?”
”now for ankle socks! i believe in you guys!! incredible idea!!” someone shared an idea.
”Finally… someone thought about it,” a third penned.
”I Need this for my loafers,” another chimed in.
”Say goodbye to bloody heels and get your pair today!” chuckled Tiffany.
Whilst browsing on the brand’s website, you can bag a wide range of socks, such as Women’s Black Heel-cush socks now on sale for £16 or a more cute pair with laces on top – this is selling for £19.
To save some money, shoppers can also snap up a three-pack for £42 – this works out to be £14 per pair.
