Chicago White Sox make 11 roster moves — including reinstating Tim Anderson from IL and optioning Oscar Colás
The Chicago White Sox made 11 roster moves Tuesday, including reinstating shortstop Tim Anderson from the injured list and optioning outfielder Oscar Colás to Triple-A Charlotte.
The Sox also reinstated infielder Hanser Alberto from the 10-day injured list, selected the contracts of pitchers Alexander Colomé and Sammy Peralta, and outfielder Billy Hamilton from Charlotte, placed reliever Joe Kelly on the paternity list, placed infielder/outfielder Romy Gonzalez on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Monday) with right shoulder inflammation, optioned infielder Lenyn Sosa to Charlotte and designated pitchers Jake Diekman and Frank German for assignment.
Alberto, placed on the injured list on April 16 (retro to April 15) with a strained left quad, is hitting .211 (4-for-19) with one homer and four RBIs in eight games.
Colomé has a 3.38 ERA, seven strikeouts and one save in eight appearances with Charlotte after signing a minor-league contract on April 6. Hamilton is hitting .188 (11-for-48) with two doubles, one triple, two RBIs, 11 runs and three stolen bases in 17 games with Charlotte. Peralta is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA, three walks and 15 strikeouts in eight relief appearances with the Knights.
Colás is slashing .211/.265/.276 with one homer and seven RBIs in 25 games. Sosa is slashing .151/.167/.245 with one homer and three RBIs in 16 games.
