Post Politics Now: Warnock, Walker in close race with more than half of votes counted in Georgia runoff

Herschel Walker, a football legend in Georgia, was drafted to run for the U.S. Senate by former president Donald Trump. He easily won the Republican nomination last spring, but during the general election, he endured a tumultuous campaign filled with verbal gaffes and personal scandals in his first foray into politics, as he tries to unseat Democratic Sen. Raphael G. Warnock.

As Emmanuel Felton and Colby Itkowitz report, Walker has, during his campaign, been accused of domestic violence, of paying for his ex-girlfriends’ abortions and of exaggerating his résumé. His son called his entire campaign “a lie.”
